A little addition to the "Beatles" link with St Edward's. Were you aware that John Lennon shared a flat with an Old Edwardian, Rod Murray (one of my best friends at SEC) during the time that he studied at Liverpool College of Art?
In the late 80's, during one of my periodic visits to my folks in Liverpool, I met up with Rod and he, my sister Jo (Josephine) and I went to lunch. During the lunch Jo asked him if he had actually shared a flat with John Lennon, and Rod confirmed that he had. "Was that the flat where you held the party that Terry and I went to?" she asked, and again he confirmed it, adding that it was a joint party that he and John had organized.
It was then, almost 30 years later, that I discovered that I had actually attended a party with John Lennon!
